When Romanucci & Blandin, LLC and The Kryder Law Group, LLC Accident and Injury Lawyers client Mya Carlton told Kent County, Michigan, Correctional Facility deputies she was suicidal, she wanted and deserved help for her potentially fatal mental health situation. Instead, as detailed in a federal civil rights lawsuit complaint filed by our law firms, Mya was met with mockery and potential punishment. She would take her own life after weeks of informing correctional facility staff that she was depressed and suicidal, being told at one point she was “out of luck” when requesting help. No one should be ignored or mocked when detained or incarcerated and seeking assistance from correctional staff: https://www.rblaw.net/news-inmates-pleas-for-mental-health-help-ignored-before-su***de-lawsuit-says

Nationally renowned civil rights and personal injury attorney Ben Crump., national trial firm Romanucci & Blandin, LLC and The Middleton Law Firm have filed a federal civil rights and wrongful death lawsuit against the City of Palm Bay, Florida, and two of its police officers on behalf of the estate of Thomas Farley. The complaint was filed in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Orlando Division.

“This is not a case about one or two bad officers. The Palm Bay Police Department’s own written policy authorized the kind of unconstitutional, elevated-height tasing that killed Thomas Farley. The Chief of Police publicly declared that Officer Mitchell ‘followed departmental policy.’ The Mayor of Palm Bay applauded the officers. PBPD has a long-standing practice of tolerating and even condoning excessive force by its officers, which allowed this pattern of police brutality to continue. And Thomas Farley is dead because of it. The City of Palm Bay must answer for that,” said Romanucci & Blandin Senior Attorney Joshua M. Levin.

The Plaintiff is represented by Ben Crump, Sue-Ann Robinson and Gabrielle Higgins of Ben Crump Law; Joshua M. Levin and Colton M. Johnson Taylor of Romanucci & Blandin, LLC; and LaFonda Middleton of The Middleton Law Firm.

On the first anniversary of the shooting death of Chicago Police Officer Krystal Rivera, her family's legal team calls out the hypocrisy of the Chicago Police Department. The department's traditional one-year memorial tribute honors Krystal’s death in the line of duty, while the police stonewall her family’s civil investigation: https://www.rblaw.net/pressrelease-anniversary-shooting-death-chicago-police-officer-krystal-rivera-legal-team-hypocrisy-cpd
