For more than a decade, Aisha Cornelius Edwards has helped shape and strengthen Cabrini Green Legal Aid—grounded in the belief that our clients deserve more than a single service or solution.

At CGLA, we’ve built an ecosystem of support around the people and communities we serve. Through our interdisciplinary model, attorneys and social workers work side by side to address the legal and social needs of our clients. And through policy and advocacy, people with lived experience help drive the systemic change our communities need.

It’s what makes CGLA different: meeting people where they are while working to change the systems that created barriers in the first place.

As Elena’s time at CGLA comes to a close, we’re reflecting on the people who make nonprofit work possible. Those who dedicate their time, talents, and care to advancing the mission. 💙 Thank you for everything, Elena!

As our Avodah Fellow and Legal Administrator, she wore many hats from client intake to administrative support, but care and dignity remained at the center of her work. Whether by phone or email, she met clients where they were and helped them navigate the legal system and their circumstances with compassion and respect.

Her greatest takeaway: You never know what someone may be going through. 🫂

We have an Intern Jeopardy champion! 🏆 Congratulations to Jaye, our 2026 winner! 

This year’s questions were inspired by what our interns learned and experienced while working alongside teams across CGLA. Now, we’re making Intern Jeopardy an annual tradition.

Although the internship is ending, their time with CGLA is not. As Jaye begins their 2L year, they plan to continue volunteering at our Daley Center Expungement Help Desk.
