Last week, we had the opportunity to speak at the Oak Park School District 97 School Board Meeting. With the support of community members like Reverend Jeanette Wilson from the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, Michael Childress the NAACP DuPage County President, and the many concerned parents with similar issues, we shared how the injustices experienced by our client will not go ignored. Our Principal Attorney, TiShaunda McPherson spoke to the viral moment that bolstered our client's claims. She laid plain the reason for our attendance for all in the audience and the board to understand and demonstrated the advocacy that we embody.
Thank you to Jasmine Minor and Eric Horng ABC7 for your coverage of our case as we work to ensure our client is legally heard! Watch our school board visit and read more about our case below.

A lawsuit alleges a 13-year-old girl, who spoke with ABC7 earlier this month, was given a bag of cotton by a teacher to take home following a history lesson slavery.
