We are pleased to provide the registration information for our 2023 Fall Conference. Host Kipp Williams and host firm Blanchard Krasner & French are excited to be welcoming their LawPact colleagues to beautiful La Jolla, California for the first time!
The conference dates are October 19-21, 2023. The conference will be held at the Grande Colonial Hotel in the heart of La Jolla Village. The conference theme is Hot Topics in the Legal Profession. Given the rapidly-changing landscape of artificial intelligence as it relates to the legal profession, AI topics are again on our agenda. Among the program highlights:
• Tiana Garbett, of the Shepard Mullin law firm, will present a review of the Corporate Transparency Act. All LawPact members need to be aware of the wide-ranging implications of this new law for their clients.
• Brian Savitch and Steve Vallone, both of Alliant Insurance Services will discuss Risk Management – Insuring against risks from Cyber Crime and AI issues
• The Ethical Considerations of Artificial Intelligence – Heather Rosing of the Klinedinst law firm will provide her perspective on this fast-changing fact of law firm management
• We will have a panel discussion on the topic of Incentivizing Performance. [Please note we would like to have a volunteer for one more panel member. If you would like to participate, please let me know]
• Eric Siegel of THK Law (South Bend, Indiana) will lead the review and discussion of the technologies and software used by member firms.
• Mark Hoyt of Sherman Sherman Johnnie & Hoyt (Salem, Oregon) will lead the annual financial ratios review and discussion.

Registration information: The linked registration form is required to be completed and submitted by each delegate with a check in the appropriate amount or credit card authorization. Even if you do not plan to stay at the Grande Colonial Hotel, please submit your registration form and the applicable fee. If you have made other arrangements for your accommodations, please indicate this fact on your registration. The registration fee for each conference delegate is $700. The delegate fee includes speaker costs, breakfast, lunch, room fees, audio-visual equipment, and the reception cost. Spouses and guests are welcome and are encouraged to join us for the reception Thursday evening and the dinner Friday evening. Attendance at the Thursday reception for one spouse/guest is complimentary. Internet service is included in the room rate. Sales taxes and other charges will almost certainly apply. You will receive the same rate if choose to arrive earlier than or depart later than the scheduled conference dates. We offer a discounted rate of $500 for additional attended from each firm; just indicate on the reigstration form if you are the second or more delegate.
Hotel Reservations: Note that hotel registrations will be made through Executive Director, Madeleine Lebedow. Hotel reservations must be made by September 18, 2023. If you want to wire transfer the payment, please contact Maddy for instructions. Credit card payments for the registration, dinner, and tour events will appear on your credit card statement as having been processed by “Skarlatos Zonarich.” You will receive an e-mail confirmation of the charge, so please include your e-mail address.Please submit your registration as soon as possible. We have reserved and are committed to a certain number of rooms. If we need more rooms, we need to advise the hotel as soon as possible. If we oversubscribe, we should be able to increase our block. However, if you register late, we may not be able to increase our block to accommodate you. Hotel reservations must be made through LawPact with information provided on the registration form by September 18, 2023. If you are not staying at the Hilton Hotel, your conference registration must be received by October 1, 2023.
