We buy bonds or equity and assist in reorganization focused on the research, sales and trading of leveraged loans and bonds; investment grade corporate bonds; distressed securities; government and agency securities; repo finance, mortgage- and asset-backed securities, municipal bonds and emerging markets debt. Our expertise provides valuable insights on situations involving complex trade, litigation and liquidation claims, typically with companies undergoing a restructuring through the bankruptcy process. Our involvement in trading distressed securities frequently leads to trading opportunities in special situations claims. First Options has been appointed to creditor committees in major federal corporate bankruptcies; and has extensive experience in the convertible bond market, mainly when associated with distressed situations including the busted convertible bond market.
