The U.S. Department of State has paused immigrant visa processing for applicants from 75 countries under a new public charge policy. Interviews will still take place, but many cases may be placed in administrative processing.
This affects family-based and employment-based immigrant visas. Nonimmigrant visas (tourist, student, work) are not affected.
Every case is different, and strategy matters. Our office is closely monitoring this change and advising clients on next steps.
