IDOT reported 63,109 injury crashes and 1,178 traffic deaths in Illinois in 2024.

That is more than 10 people injured every hour.

When a crash causes serious injuries, the case should start with the real numbers: medical treatment, lost income, insurance coverage, and who caused the harm.

A food recall is not the time to taste, cook around, or “see if it’s fine.”

Keep the recalled item away from everyone in the house, especially children, seniors, pregnant women, and anyone with a weaker immune system.

Got sick after eating it? Save the packaging, receipt, recall notice, and test results

Yes, you may still have a workers’ comp case.

If you were doing your job when the injury happened, workers’ comp may cover your medical treatment and time off work, even if you caused the accident yourself.

Listeria can cause severe harm, especially for pregnant women, small children, seniors, and people with weakened immune systems.

If contaminated lunch meat or hot dogs caused the illness, tracing the source can support a food poisoning claim.

One warning sign may have an explanation.

A pattern should not be brushed off.

If your loved one keeps losing weight, developing sores, falling, or sitting in soiled clothing, ask the facility who checks on them, what care plan they follow, and why the issue keeps happening.

Woman sues McDonald's over spilled coffee. It's been a punchline for three decades.

In 1992, McDonald's coffee spilled in 79-year-old Stella Liebeck's lap and caused severe burns that required serious medical care: third-degree burns across 6% of her body, eight days of hospitalization, and multiple skin graft surgeries.

Before she ever filed a lawsuit, she asked McDonald's to cover her $20,000 in medical bills. McDonald's offered $800.

At trial, the company admitted it had received more than 700 prior complaints about scalding injuries from its coffee in the decade before her case and had settled some of them without lowering the temperature.

A jury heard all of it: the burns, the bills, the 700 complaints. They found McDonald's 80% at fault.
