Today I had the honor of arguing a case in front of the First District Appellate Court. My goal was to convince the Court that awarding 50% of my (New York Times bestselling author) client’s book royalties for
perpetuity to her ex-husband of less than 6 years was an abuse of the trial court’s discretion AND that the Court should set precedent on the treatment of advances against royalties, which I believe to be in the nature of income, not property.

Hoping for the best result for a worthy client, and so grateful to have this pinch me moment!
