We had to respond to a recent Tribune article about a woman suing her landlord for not allowing her to break her lease after a sexual assault because the article didn't mention a critical protection for Illinois residents in exactly this situation: the Illinois Safe Homes Act. It's Pride Month! We are proud that our community of clients, supporters, staff, and colleagues includes le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r, and gender nonconforming people. For us, Pride means celebrating the beautiful diversity of life experiences, perspectives, and expertise coming together to make our work not only possible, but more effective and impactful.

In June, we recommit to dismantling systems that disproportionately harm people in the LGBTQ+ community, and to building new systems that work for all survivors, especially those from historically underserved and marginalized communities.
