It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our founding partner, Dean Spiro Dussias, on June 14, 2026, at the age of 61.

Dean was one of the most respected family law attorneys in Illinois, a past President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and a founding principal of our firm. A devoted husband, father, and man of deep faith, Dean lived a life defined by generosity and love. More than his many professional accomplishments, Dean will be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and extraordinary ability to make everyone around him feel special. He was, simply, one of one.

On March 14, DWK joined Illinois State Bar Association in Springfield, Illinois, for the 2026 ISBA High School Mock Trial Invitational. Over the course of the two-day event, students from 56 Illinois high schools argued cases in a courtroom setting. DWK Partner Theresa Lechner and Associate Michele Moreschi participated as jurors, offering valuable feedback and encouragement to the students. The Invitational is one means by which ISBA creates opportunities for students to engage in realistic legal experiences. DWK continues to wholeheartedly support ISBA in this endeavor.
