Congrats to our amazing buyers on
the purchase of this beautiful home. This deal was smooth sailing until a low appraisal threw us a curveball ⚾️

When the appraised value of a home comes in below the sale price, it can put the whole deal at risk. Appraisals are an essential part of almost every real estate transaction, but they can also be a source of frustration for both buyers and sellers.

If an appraisal comes in lower than the agreed-upon purchase price, it can scuttle the deal entirely. Low appraisals are usually the result of two factors: either the real estate market has softened since the contract was signed, or the appraiser underestimated the value of the property. In either case, it's important to remember that an appraisal is just one person's opinion of value. If you still feel strongly about the property, you may be able to negotiate a lower purchase price or get a second opinion from another appraiser.

As experienced real estate agents, we helped our clients understand how to make the best of this setback, and we were able to negotiate a lower sale price for the home.

Ultimately, a low appraisal doesn’t have to derail a real estate transaction; it simply requires some creative thinking and skillful negotiation!
