SMB attorneys Aiju Thevatheril and Daniel Kramer secured a defense verdict on behalf of their client, a maternal-fetal medicine physician, in a Cook County medical malpractice case in which the plaintiff sought $10 million in damages.

After a one-month trial before Judge Robert Harris, the jury deliberated for approximately one hour before returning a verdict in favor of the defense.

SMB attorneys Kristine Reveille and Katherine Kettering secured a defense verdict at trial on behalf of their client, a hospital, in DuPage County.

The plaintiff alleged that the hospital’s ICU nurses were negligent in connection with care provided during a hospitalization for respiratory failure due to COVID.

The plaintiff further alleged that the negligence caused pain, suffering, and emotional anguish.
The case was tried before Judge Robert Rohm.

SMB attorneys Steven Danekas and Shannon Buckley secured a defense verdict on behalf of their client, a pediatric anesthesiologist, in a medical malpractice case in which the plaintiff sought $17 million to $23 million in damages.

Following several weeks of trial, the jury deliberated for approximately 52 minutes before returning a verdict in favor of the defense. The case was tried before Judge Patrick Heneghan.
