On December 1, Cook County issued a notice to employees regarding the Minimum Wage Ordinance (MWO).

Effective January 1, 2024, the minimum wage for non-tipped workers increases to $14.00 and the minimum wage for tipped workers increases to $8.40. These increases are required in alignment with the Illinois State minimum wage.

WINGS is doing an Amazon holiday gift drive again this year!
Our hero, Dina, (who is literally out saving the world every day by giving her time, brilliance, and money to several amazing organizations) is on the Associate Board of the Wings Program.
Wings is a non-profit dedicated to breaking the cycle of Domestic Violence. They run two emergency shelters, transitional housing, and education services for domestic violence victims and their families in the Chicagoland area.
This year, they've set up a Holiday Wish List for the 100+ families at the Wings shelters. You simply buy a gift from this Amazon wish list and it gets sent directly to Wings, where they are setting up a holiday "store" where parents can come choose free gifts for their families for the holidays. Most domestic violence survivors come to Wings with their children, so this is an amazing and easy way to give back to this community in need. 💛
