Cogan & Power, P.C. Attorney, James Edwards, recovered $850,000 in a motor vehicle accident matter for a 59-year-old man following an incident on a state highway in Kendall County. Mr. Edwards argued a company operating a concrete mixing truck negligently hired a driver and that the driver failed to conduct a proper inspection of the truck prior to operating it on the road. The client sustained exacerbations of his prior cervical neck and shoulder injuries when debris allegedly fell from the back of the concrete mixing truck and onto his vehicle’s windshield, causing him to lose control of the vehicle. He eventually needed surgical intervention for both his neck and left shoulder.
