His father was a union worker who believed deeply in standing up for the people around him — and he encouraged Charlie to do the same.

RECORD-SETTING SETTLEMENT: Gould Grieco & Hensley has secured a $17.5 million settlement for a former Chicago Public Schools student sexually abused by an administrator – making it the largest recovery for school abuse in Illinois history.

Approved just hours before trial, this outcome also marks the second-largest sexual abuse recovery ever reported in the state and one of the largest individual survivor settlements in the country.

The case exposed serious systemic failures and a longstanding pattern of misconduct. Our team – Martin Gould, Mike Grieco, Bryce Hensley, and Nick Wainwright – led litigation efforts and worked to hold the district accountable.

Most importantly, our client seeks to protect future generations of students. She’s offered to allocate a portion of her settlement to support CHILD USA’s Gold Standard Prevention Program team to evaluate CPS’s policies and training. We’re honored to stand beside her and all survivors seeking justice.
