Myles Carroll is an Associate in KMA Zuckert LLP’s Chicago office.

Myles represents businesses and individuals in complex commercial disputes, trust litigation, employment matters, and civil defense cases in state and federal courts nationwide. He also maintains an active appellate practice, successfully handling appeals throughout Illinois.

In addition to his litigation practice, Myles serves as outside general counsel to businesses and individuals, providing strategic legal guidance, risk management advice, and practical solutions to help clients navigate legal challenges and achieve their objectives.

Recognized for his work in commercial litigation and civil defense, Myles was named to the Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Stars list for three consecutive years (2024–2026).

Myles earned his Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Legal Writing III and Trial Advocacy II and was a member of the school’s nationally recognized trial advocacy team. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Elmhurst University.

Already admitted to practice in Illinois, Ms. Wang has now expanded her licensure to California, further strengthening her ability to serve clients across multiple jurisdictions and to support the firm's California practice.

Ms. Wang focuses her practice on commercial and contractual disputes, aviation litigation, civil rights matters, and tort claims involving personal injury and product liability.

She received her J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where she served as a Staff Editor of the UIC John Marshall Law Review.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other federal agencies have implemented temporary entry restrictions and enhanced airport screening measures in response to ongoing Ebola outbreaks in parts of East and Central Africa.

Under a CDC Order effective May 18, 2026, certain travelers who were recently present in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, or South Sudan may be restricted from entering the United States. Other travelers arriving from affected regions are being routed through designated U.S. airports for enhanced public health screening and monitoring.

The measures include:

• enhanced airport health screening;
• rerouting through designated airports including IAD, ATL, IAH, and JFK;
• post-arrival health monitoring; and
• coordination with airlines and port-of-entry officials.

The developments may have operational implications for international air carriers, airport operators, and travelers, particularly regarding routing, passenger screening, and public health compliance obligations.

Sreya Bhattaru is an Associate in KMA Zuckert LLP’s New York office.

Sreya represents clients in commercial litigation and contractual disputes, with experience handling complex civil matters from early case assessment through dispute resolution. Her practice includes evaluating liability, analyzing contractual obligations, and helping clients navigate litigation strategy.

Before joining the firm, Sreya gained both in-house and private practice experience in matters involving life insurance and annuities, intellectual property, and civil litigation. This background gives her a practical perspective on managing claims, assessing risk, and addressing contractual issues at every stage of a dispute.

Sreya earned her J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where she was recognized as a Dean’s Scholar and an Oliver Ellsworth Scholar. During law school, she served on the Mock Trial Team and participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic. She also holds a B.A. in Philosophy, with honors, from Baylor University.

Her experience allows her to evaluate matters from multiple vantage points, anticipate opposing strategies, and develop approaches aligned with each client’s objectives.

She has handled complex litigation matters through resolution and trial, including serving as first-chair trial counsel.

Recently named a 2026 Super Lawyers Rising Star, Jordan was also honored as a Top 40 Under 40 Black Lawyer by the National Black Lawyers Association.

The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a proposed rule establishing a framework for restricting drone operations over certain critical infrastructure sites.

Under the proposal, operators of qualifying facilities could petition the FAA for permanent or temporary unmanned aircraft restrictions where necessary for aviation safety, protection of people and property, national security, or homeland security.

The proposal reflects continued federal efforts to balance the expansion of commercial drone operations with growing concerns surrounding unauthorized drone activity near sensitive locations, including infrastructure, public venues, and government facilities.

The rulemaking would also create a separate category of “special” flight restrictions applicable to certain federal sites and affiliates. A 60-day public comment period is now open.

The U.S. Department of Transportation has announced a coordinated response with major U.S. carriers to support passengers and employees affected by the cessation of operations by Spirit Airlines.

Following discussions with the Department, multiple airlines have implemented short-term measures to assist impacted travelers, including:

🔷 Capped fares for rebooking displaced passengers (with time-limited eligibility and documentation requirements)
🔷 Reduced or frozen fares on overlapping routes to mitigate price increases
🔷 Network-wide fare discounts in certain cases

In parallel, carriers are taking steps to support affected employees:

🔷 Travel privileges and jump seat access for crew members returning home
🔷 Preferential interview processes across participating airlines
🔷 Dedicated recruitment portals to facilitate continued employment in the sector

The Department also highlighted key considerations for ticketholders seeking refunds, including potential remedies through credit card chargebacks, travel insurance, and bankruptcy claims processes.

The situation demonstrates the aviation industry’s ability to mobilize quickly in response to operational disruption, while also raising broader considerations around passenger protection frameworks and workforce continuity in the event of airline insolvency.

The U.S. Department of Transportation has issued a final rule requiring covered air carriers to submit a concise, one-page summary of passenger rights, advancing transparency in air travel.

The rule, implementing Section 429 of the Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Act, requires airlines to clearly outline policies relating to delays, diversions, cancellations, baggage, and boarding practices, including compensation and rebooking options.

Following submission, carriers must publish the summary in a prominent location on their websites within 90 days, ensuring accessibility for passengers.

The requirement focuses on standardizing how existing rights are presented, rather than expanding substantive entitlements. For carriers, the obligation is largely administrative, but visibility of these policies may increase scrutiny of compliance and customer-facing practices.

Mr. Prasanna focuses his practice on representing aviation clients across the commercial and general aviation industry in state and federal courts. His experience includes matters involving personal injury, wrongful death, and product liability claims, as well as broader commercial and employment disputes.

Mr. Prasanna began his legal career in India, where he was admitted to practice in 2022 after graduating from The Tamilnadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University. During his studies, he represented the University at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna.

He later earned his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he was awarded the Philip H. Corboy Mock Trial Fellowship and achieved top placements in national trial competitions, including the Martin Luther King Jr. Civil Rights Trial Competition and the Midwest BLSA Mock Trial Competition.
