At the beginning of mediation, I often find that clients do not communicate well. So I promote mutually acceptable decisions by addressing difficult dynamics. Mediation emphasizes negotiation and two-way conversation. This promotes understanding and mutual learning. If you understand each other, it shows that you are listening. Then a foundation exists to explore what matters to each of you.
