Rachel Powell, aka "Bullhorn Lady" claims her lawyer told her to throw her mask away. Her lawyer denies that characterization of his advice. Take a look with me at some of the legal ethics considerations of the case.

Rachel Powell, aka "Bullhorn Lady" claims her Lawyer told her to throw her mask away. What legal ethics considerations would that raise?

Very interesting case - A New York Judge dismissed a personal injury lawsuit because the Plaintiff's attorney wouldn't wear a mask in court - should the attorney be disciplined?

How does a plaintiff's attorney lose a personal injury case where the defendant has already admitted liability? For one New York attorney, it was the result of refusing to participate in the damages-only jury trial while wearing a face mask. Recently, the New York Daily News reported on a personal i...

Does attorney Sidney Powell's unexpected legal defense work against her in potential bar discipline? Check out my blog post where I get to both ask and answer the questions!

As reported by just about every news source in the country (Not you), attorney Sidney Powell is defending herself against a defamation suit filed by Dominion Voting Systems by claiming that "no reasonable person would conclude that the statements were truly statements of fact." There has been specul...

Attractive side-hustle or legal ethics quagmire? Could this top prosecutor end up in the hot seat for delivering hot meals?

DA Gregg Shore was recently demoted for working a second job as a food delivery driver for popular app, DoorDash. So what's wrong with a little 'side-hustle' in today's world? Well, Mr. Shore was out delivering while he was on the government clock, making those dollars while he was making those doll...

An attorney's ability to subpoena a witness is a powerful tool, and those entrusted with the responsibility should treat it with the respect it deserves. Unlike an attorney in Connecticut who used a deposition to spring a key piece of surprise evidence on a deponent - and got the evidence thrown out of court as a result.

A Connecticut attorney is in a bit of a legal ethics pickle, after essentially sandbagging key evidence in an employment lawsuit with the intent of springing the evidence during a deposition in order to prove the employer was lying.

When do legal ethics and superheroes join forces? Well one Florida attorney found a Marvel-ous way. Read about his quest to seemingly violate as many rules of professional conduct as possible in one plan sure to make your legal senses tingle.

Meanwhile... in the office of attorney William Douberley, of Florida, a sinister plot was being hatched. "Mwa ha ha." Douberley might have said (*This author doesn't know, as I certainly wasn't there, this is wildly speculative based on the unproven allegations of this complaint in Florida's 15th Ju...

This might have been a violation of Rule of Professional Conduct 3.3 (Duty of Candor to the Court), but the attorney was careful to inform the judge that he was not, in fact, a cat.

This is a live stream of virtual court proceedings in the 394th Judicial District Court of Brewster, Culberson, Hudspeth, Jeff Davis and Presidio Counties, J...

This isn't going to end the way Mr. Wood would like.

Atlanta attorney L. Lin Wood, one of the most prominent purveyors of conspiracy theories surrounding the 2020 presidential election, is in danger of losing his ability to practice law in Georgia.

Do movie stills speak louder than words? Or are they a good way to earn some unnecessary Misery? One prosecuting attorney in New Jersey may find herself on The Stand after her closing argument Mist.

It started in 2004 with the most polite note in the history of crime. As found by the New Jersey Court, Damon Williams walked into a Bank of America branch in Merchantville, NJ, hunched down his six-foot plus frame until his face was sticking between the metal grate and the teller counter, and passe...

Check out my article on Giuliani's statement that he can't serve as impeachment counsel due to serving as a witness.

Rudy Giuliani was expected to serve as chief impeachment counsel to defend President Trump from the charges laid out in H.Res. 24. Surprisingly, Giuliani recently told ABC News that, "Because I gave an earlier speech [at the rally], I am a witness and therefore unable to participate in court or in t...
