Mortgage rates were supposed to fall throughout 2024, but sticky inflation has kept them elevated so far this year. Until inflation comes down further, mortgage rates will likely remain elevated. In fact, according to Freddie Mac, the national averages for 30-year and 15-year fixed-rate mortgages are up slightly from last week.We could see rates start to trend down in the second half of the year, but it depends on what the next few months of economic data show. 🏡
