to just last week when our wonderful faculty members, Drs. Eliza Jex & Shelly Shaffer, joined STCU and KHQ Local News to present November's award to Mr. Paul Schneider from University High School in CVSD. 🎉Congratulations Mr. Schneider🎉 and thank you for all your wonderful work educating and supporting students in Central Valley School District!

Here is a snippet from Mr. Schneider's nomination letter:

"If you were to ask me which teacher had the greatest influence on my life, I would answer Mr. Schneider without a question. Mr. Schneider is one of those teachers that goes out of his way to make sure that everyone feels seen, heard, and cared for. He uplifts everyone he meets and loves his students fiercely; he is steady and intentional in his pursuit of everyone; he brings honesty and personality to the table; he teachers his students to accept diversity; he grants others the freedom to be themselves because he walks in that freedom; and, overall, he is the type of person who envelopes people in his warmth and makes them feel safe." - Sophea, graduate of University High School

Three of our Literacy, Reading and Writing majors went to Anaheim last week for the National Council for Teachers of English. These future teachers presented at a roundtable session and represented the School of Education on the national stage. We are so proud of these young women and their accomplishments, and we can't wait to see what their futures hold. It's so exciting to see them grow as educators.

For the past several years, Literacy, Reading and Writing majors have attended NCTE through grants for travel. If you are an education student who is interested in attending a conference, contact your advisor!!
