The events of the past week have made me realize that we as American's have come to an impasse.

The young lady that was stabbed in NC was a refugee meaning she thought she'd be safer here than in her war torn home country. The devastating irony, she was murdered here. To make matters worse no one rendered her aid. Not a single person around her tried to help as she bled out.

The shooting and death of Charlie Kirk was the result of someone disagreeing with his politics, personal values, and beliefs. I've worked personally with people who sought and were granted political asylum in the US. Meaning they were in so much danger at home of being persecuted or killed for their political opinions that we as America said you can come and be safe here. Charlie Kirk was killed for something we grant asylum for on American Soil.

So here's the impasse do we stop and make our country the safe haven it once used to be? Or do we settle for the violence and hate? Do we become a country that no longer is safe for Refugees or people seeking Asylum or for people with strong Political and Personal beliefs?

We're much better off as a society to say our truce, engage in respectful debates, ask the hard questions, more importantly answer the hard questions, morally teach that violence and hate is never the answer, & that rendering aid is honorable.

In my opinion, where we're at now is unconscionable, unnecessary, ungodly, and simply inhumane.
