Attorney Noah and Paralegal Aya secured long term disability benefits from Mutual of Omaha for their client after an initial denial.

Mutual of Omaha denied the claim before our team submitted additional evidence on appeal. The client suffered from cervical and lumbar degenerative disc disease, which prevented her from continuing to work.

On appeal, our team submitted medical records and a functional capacity evaluation showing that the client’s condition prevented her from working.

Based on that evidence, Mutual of Omaha overturned its prior denial and approved long term disability benefits.

Get to Know Our Law Clerk: Shrujana Senthil!

We’re excited to introduce one of our law clerks, Shrujana Senthil!

Shrujana is a student at Washington and Lee University School of Law. This summer, she’s looking forward to developing her litigation skills while working alongside our attorneys and gaining hands-on experience.

She was drawn to disability law because it gives her the opportunity to use her legal education to help people who may not be able to advocate for themselves. She believes helping individuals obtain the benefits they deserve is one of the most rewarding areas of law.

Outside the office, Shrujana has enjoyed exploring Chattanooga’s unique restaurants and is on a mission to try as many local coffee shops as she can this summer.

Attorney Noah and Paralegal Aya secured individual disability benefits from Provident for their client after an initial denial. Provident denied the claim by taking the position that the client could still work as a dentist despite serious physical limitations.

The client suffered from orthopedic conditions that prevented her from continuing to perform the physical demands of her occupation as a dentist. On appeal, our team addressed Provident's assertions by submitting clear and objective evidence, including the results of a functional capacity evaluation, showing that the client’s physical limitations prevented her from continuing to work. Based on that evidence, Provident reversed its decision and approved benefits.
