COURT WIN ⚖️

Reliance denied our client’s long-term disability claim, arguing she could return to her own occupation despite documented impairments related to chronic migraines. Reliance upheld the denial on appeal, so our team filed suit in federal court.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado overturned Reliance’s denial and reinstated our client’s claim for long-term disability benefits. Congratulations to Noah Breazeale, Ren Orlic, and our Intake Team, Emily, Terrance, Will, and Lilly, on this win!

Guardian initially approved our client’s long-term disability claim after an injury left her with chronic pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and limited use of her hands. Her benefits were later terminated after Guardian determined she could return to her occupation.

Our team appealed with a functional capacity evaluation documenting her limitations with hand use, lifting, walking, and prolonged sitting. Based on this evidence, Guardian reversed its denial and approved her benefits.

Lincoln denied our client’s long-term disability claim, asserting that he could perform his sedentary occupation as a project manager. However, its vocational analysis incorrectly characterized the position as requiring only occasional keyboarding.

Our team appealed with updated medical records, a functional capacity evaluation, a medical opinion form, and a vocational evaluation. This evidence showed that Lincoln’s occupational analysis was inaccurate and that our client could not sustain sedentary work due to his chronic pain and significant spinal conditions.

Lincoln overturned its denial and approved his long-term disability benefits.

Congratulations to Attorney Kaci Garrabrant for securing long-term disability benefits for our client.

Our client sustained a traumatic brain injury early in life but continued working for many years in cybersecurity. As his memory and cognitive difficulties worsened, he was diagnosed with a neurocognitive disorder.

Matrix denied his claim, finding that he could return to his own occupation. After our team submitted updated neuropsychological testing, medical records, and statements from his treating physicians, Matrix reversed its decision and approved his long-term disability benefits.
