The matching process in surrogacy is about more than finding a surrogate or intended parents. It’s a foundational step focused on making sure everyone is entering the journey with shared expectations.

In this clip, attorney Joanna Beck Wilkinson explains the first steps of the surrogacy process, including the important conversations surrounding embryo transfer preferences, compensation, medical decision-making, and other key aspects of the pregnancy journey.

Meet Iliana Ozuna, Associate Attorney at Foster + Bloom. 💚

Iliana has built her career around advocating for children and supporting families through some of their most complex and emotional legal matters. Starting as a children’s advocate in contested dependency cases, she developed a strong foundation in litigation while remaining focused on what matters most, protecting and advancing the best interests of every child she represents.

Today, Iliana brings that same dedication to her work in juvenile law, guiding families through foster care adoptions, guardianships, stepparent and infant adoptions, and more. She also helps families plan for the future through thoughtful estate planning, creating long-term stability and care for children. With every case, Iliana combines experience and compassion to help families move forward with confidence.

Back in Denver after a whirlwind 18-hour trip, and two life-changing outcomes to show for it. ✈️

Founding Member Tifany Markee traveled from Denver to Southern California to attend expedited N-600K naturalization appointments for two internationally adopted children. By the end of it, both a six-year-old from Guatemala and a seven-year-old from Mexico officially became U.S. citizens, each receiving their certificate of citizenship and an American flag.

Moments like these are why this work matters. These children are now able to apply for U.S. passports and move forward with the security and recognition they deserve.

Wherever you are in the process, across states or across borders, Foster + Bloom is here to help you take the next step forward. 💚

This week, Founding Member Michelle Evans of Foster + Bloom helped bring an adoption case across the finish line, confirming the successful finalization for two children.

With no option for updates by phone or email, Michelle took matters into her own hands, traveling four hours to appear at the Riverside courthouse in person. This is a reminder that behind every outcome are moments that require: more effort, more advocacy, and a refusal to leave families without answers.

This is what it takes to move cases forward. And it’s why this work matters. 💚

Meet Elizabeth (Liz) Vaysman, Senior Attorney of Foster + Bloom. 💚

Liz has spent her career guiding families through some of the most meaningful, and complex moments of their lives. With a background spanning agency work and private practice, she’s developed a thoughtful approach to helping intended parents, surrogates, and donors move forward with clarity and confidence.

From drafting surrogacy and donor agreements to securing parental rights and advising on future family planning, Liz brings both precision and compassion to every case. Her work is also rooted in something bigger, staying actively involved in shaping policy around adoption, assisted reproduction, and women’s health so families today (and tomorrow) have stronger, more supportive paths forward.
