Stuart’s unique background includes teaching German, psychology, and philosophy, authoring approximately 20 published books, and performing as a guitarist in a metal band. Please join us in congratulating Paul Allen on five years with our firm!

Paul is a Partner in our Columbia office with a statewide civil litigation practice, handling a wide variety of matters in State and Federal courts, from construction defect and products liability to complex commercial litigation.

Outside of work, Paul enjoys hunting, cheering on South Carolina athletics, and spending time with his two German Shepherds.

We're not saying we intentionally picked an indoor venue for this year's Charlotte summer outing. . . But we're also not NOT saying that.

What we are saying is that Spare Time Pineville delivered. Bowling, arcade games, and the chance to see each other outside the office, significant others and kids included, made for a great afternoon together.

The highlight of the afternoon was a bowling tournament pitting attorneys against administrative employees. Let's just say both sides came ready to play, but the administrative employees emerged victorious.

As a workers' compensation partner in our Charlotte office, he serves as a trusted advisor, providing thoughtful legal analysis and driving cases toward efficient resolution. Raleigh office family day at Battle and Birdie did not disappoint. Mini-golf, good food, great company, and a few epic games of laser tag. Multiple employees reported that laser tag was quite a workout; perhaps a sign that some of us are not as young as we once were.

Allison joined us in 2021, bringing 14 years of experience from the NC Board of Law Examiners. Over the past five years, she has served as a paralegal, operations assistant, and records department support, becoming a trusted resource for colleagues across the firm. Most recently, she was promoted to Office Administrator of our Raleigh and Wilmington offices, a reflection of the confidence and trust she has earned. Her skills were on full display during the Raleigh office move last year, where she played a critical role in ensuring a seamless transition.

No one should face abuse alone, and events like Safe Alliance's Walk A Mile in Her Shoes make sure survivors know they aren't.

Our Managing Partner Paul Lawrence was proud to participate alongside his wife Laura, President & CEO of Safe-Alliance, and other family members at this year's Charlotte event. Together, attendees raised awareness of domestic violence, human trafficking, and elder abuse, and stood in solidarity with those whose lives have been impacted.

Building a stronger, safer community means showing up, and we're grateful to those at Safe-Alliance who make that mission their life's work.
