Attention Business Owners: Annual reports for all LLCs are due to the Secretary of State by April 15th. Corporation and Limited Partnership annual reports are due annually based upon your fiscal calendar, so if your fiscal year coincides with the calendar year, your annual reports are due April 15th as well.

It's important to note that failure to file your annual report will result in your business being suspended and ultimately dissolved.

Possibly the most impactful legal change in 2023 for most of our estate planning clients which was discussed today was the Federal SECURE Act 2.0.

Here are a few practical highlights:

-Increased the age for Required Minimum Distributions for retirement plans.
-Expanded automatic enrollment in retirement plans.
-Added matching for lower income individuals and joint filing couples.
-Expanded ability to make catch-up contributions after age 50.
-Employer contributions and catch-up contributions can be elected for Roth treatment.
