Wanted to give a big shout out to our 2026 Dewey, Ramsay & Hunt scholarship winner, Samuel Teah, Jr., from Rockwell, NC! His essay definitely pulled on our heartstrings and gave him the edge over the quite numerous applications that we had. He overcame hardship after his parents were involved in a distracted driving incident, and he became a care giver for a period of time. He said it made him truly realize how fragile life is and how one careless decision behind the wheel doesn’t just affect the driver—it affects families, futures and entire communities. We wish him all the best and feel that he is going to have a bright future!
