Unlock Potential: Coaching for Strengths, Not Deficits

What if recovery focused on what you CAN do, not just what you’ve lost? 🧠💪
Michelle explains how her coaching approach starts with the survivor’s strengths, joy, and the things that truly matter to them. By creating achievable goals and working toward them one step at a time, small successes can begin rebuilding confidence.
And confidence matters. When you start believing, “I can do hard things,” you may become more willing to try, grow, and take on new challenges. Recovery isn’t only about meeting someone else’s definition of success. It’s about building a life that feels meaningful to you.

Bridging the Gap: Survivor Identity After Trauma Care

What happens when therapy ends, but you still don’t feel like yourself? 🧠❤️
Brain injury rehabilitation can help survivors regain essential abilities like walking, talking, and eating. But Michelle points to a major gap that can come afterward: learning how to live again when your identity, relationships, and everyday roles may feel completely different.
Recovery can also mean finding purpose again, reconnecting with family, returning to your community, and discovering who you are now. Survivors and caregivers deserve support through that part of the journey too.

Never Give Up: A Remarkable Brain Injury Recovery Story
What if it’s been decades since your brain injury? Is progress still possible? 🧠❤️
Michelle shares the story of a client who was nearly 30 years post-injury and had spent years believing his recovery had reached its limit. When he began receiving different forms of care and support, she says his mobility and communication improved significantly over the following months.
Every brain injury and recovery journey is different, and no treatment can guarantee the same outcome. But his experience carries an important message for survivors: a long time since your injury does not mean you should give up on pursuing meaningful progress.

Trauma's Gifts: Finding Strength and Mindset Shift
Can something meaningful grow from one of the hardest experiences of your life? 🧠❤️
Michelle shares how some survivors discover unexpected changes during recovery, including greater empathy, compassion, perspective, and a deeper appreciation for life. That doesn’t erase what happened or mean everyone has to find a positive side to trauma.
But for some, recognizing personal growth can become an important part of moving forward and discovering who they are becoming after a life-changing experience.
