Yesterday, Chip Bruorton spoke to the Engineering/Commercial Law, Ethics, Safety, and Contracts class at The Citadel about Environmental and Labor laws as they relate to the construction industry. This is his second time presenting to the class on this subject.

These complex areas of law continue to evolve, and we're grateful for opportunities to share knowledge and engage with the next generation of construction industry professionals.

22 million workers are exposed to hazardous noise levels every year.

If you're a federal employee working in shipyards, construction, or aviation—or if you need to shout to be heard by coworkers just feet away—you could be at risk for permanent noise-induced hearing loss.

Fiduciary relationships arise in a number of business relationships, including between investment advisors and their clients, officers and directors of publicly traded companies and their shareholders, and between parties involved in the purchase and sale of securities.

These relationships create a legal obligation where the fiduciary (the individual who owes the duty) is required to act in a manner that is consistent with the best interests of the other person or entity.

When a fiduciary fails to act in their beneficiary's best interest, they may be liable under breach of fiduciary duty or constructive fraud.
