Carolina Student Legal Services, Inc. is staffed by three (3) licensed attorneys and one legal assistant.

We are a 501(c)(3) organization, staffed by three full time attorneys, available to provide legal advice and representation on a wide variety of issues for currently enrolled UNC students They are available to provide full time UNC students with assistance in understanding the factors that should be considered when one seeks legal advice, to determine if a lawyer's services are or are not necessar

y, and to provide appropriate representation and/or referral. We are funded by a student legal services fee that all full-time students pay each academic year. Thus, essentially CSLS is a pre-paid service for full time students. The only instances that our clients will have out-of pocket expenses occur when there are court costs associated with taking court action. The three staff attorneys who provide legal services here are independent contractors, and all visits to the office are strictly confidential. We are happy to provide legal advice and representation for a wide range of legal matters, including landlord-tenant issues, alcohol and drug citations, traffic citations, and expunction proceedings. We cannot offer advice or representation for legal matters involving the University or regarding disputes with other students eligible for our services.
