A new StorageCafe analysis of the 100 largest U.S. cities ranks Scottsdale No. 10 among most fun cities in America, while nearby Gilbert stands out as one of the fastest-growing cities for fun nationwide. Together, they show how dining, entertainment and recreation are spreading across the Valley as its communities continue to grow.Yesterday's focus was on the best places to retire, today we look at where Metro Phoenix cities rank among most fun cities in America 🎢

Here are a few highlights:

▪Scottsdale ranks No. 10 nationally with 79 fun spots per 10,000 residents and nearly 1,950 restaurants, entertainment venues, shopping destinations and recreation spots.

▪Scottsdale’s population grew 7% over the past decade, while its dining scene expanded by roughly 26% and entertainment venues increased 33%.

▪Gilbert recorded a 58% surge in fun spots over the decade, one of the five fastest increases in the country, including the addition of more than 200 restaurants alongside new entertainment and recreation venues.

▪Scottsdale’s Old Town remains a walkable hub for dining, arts and nightlife, while Gilbert’s rapid expansion is giving East Valley residents more reasons to find their fun closer to home.

20 best U.S. cities for retirement includes 2 from Arizona💫

Scottsdale ranks #4 among the best cities to retire in the United States, according to WalletHub’s 2026 analysis of 182 cities. Tempe also cracked the national top 20 at #17, while Chandler ranked #49 and Tucson came in at #55. Phoenix ranked #76, followed by Peoria at #90, Gilbert at #94, Glendale at #100 and Mesa at #117.

Scottsdale’s greatest strength was quality of life, where it ranked #1 in the nation. It also ranked #18 for activities and #35 for healthcare. Affordability proved to be its biggest weakness, with Scottsdale ranking #114 in that category.

Tempe also performed particularly well in quality of life, ranking #14 nationally, along with #30 for healthcare. Chandler ranked even higher for quality of life at #4 nationally, helping the East Valley community secure its #49 overall position.

⚠️ AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING DEED FRAUD

FACT: Since 2024, the Arizona Attorney General’s Office has received nearly 400 complaints about real estate fraud, resulting in about 40 active criminal investigations. A large number of those involve deed fraud. Scammers usually target vacant homes, vacation properties, or homes belonging to elderly or deceased owners.

FACT: Deed fraud happens when someone illegally transfers a property title into their name using forged documents or other fraudulent means.

THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO PROTECT YOURSELF & YOUR PROPERTY:

STEP 1️⃣ ➡ The Arizona Department of Real Estate rolled out a new program to combat deed fraud. The system, called the Early Real Estate Sales Alert System, or ERAS, alerts property owners BEFORE a real estate transaction involving their property is finalized and recorded.

▪️Visit the ERAS website at -- https://earlyalert.azre.gov/ -- to register. You can register for ERAS using your name, property address, OR parcel number - let me know if you need any assistance in this regard. Arizona is urging people with elderly family members to sign up for alerts on those properties as well. The registration process is simple and takes just a few moments.

STEP 2️⃣ ➡ The Maricopa County Assessor rolled out the Maricopa Title Alert program which monitors and alerts subscribers when documents are recorded with the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office under an individual and/or business' name. This service applies only to documents recorded after sign up.

▪️Visit the Assessors website at -- https://recorder.maricopa.gov/recording/title-alert.html -- to register. There is no limit to how many names a subscriber can monitor under their account. Users may unsubscribe or make updates to this service at any time, but subscribers must maintain a current email and/or phone number to ensure accurate notification.

5 Arizona cities rank among 50 best real estate markets 💫

Arizona’s housing market continues to make a strong showing on the national stage, with five Valley cities ranking among the 50 best real estate markets in the country, according to a new WalletHub analysis.

Gilbert leads the Arizona contingent at No. 13 nationally, followed by Surprise at No. 27, Peoria at No. 42, Tempe at No. 46 and Chandler at No. 50.

💰Cash buyers are beginning to lose some of the outsized influence they gained during the pandemic housing boom, according to a new Realtor.com® report released today.

💰Cash purchases accounted for 31.4% of home sales during the first four months of 2026, down from 32.3% a year earlier, as easing prices, improving inventory and changing market conditions helped more financed buyers re-enter the market.

💰Cash buyers in Metro Phoenix represented 27% of transactions, a drop of 2.7% during that time period.
