I’ve been feeling a bit poetic lately…and battling some inner demons. And as time stares me in the face and shows me little mercy, I decided to pen it down so the pain is worthy.
“Echoes of Time”
I remember the days when the world felt so wide,
When the laughter we shared was enough to survive.
The faces I knew, the glory that I had,
Are shadows now fading, leaving me sad.
There’s a piece of me lost in the dust of the years,
A version of self I held close, now unclear.
I long for the past, but I’ve traveled so far,
The road isn’t gentle, nor written in stars.
Oh, time, be kind—don’t steal me away,
I fear what I’m losing with each passing day.
The image I cherished, the soul I once knew,
Is slipping like sand, what more can I do?
I miss the young eyes, so bright and so bold,
Even the illusions they loved to uphold.
Some things I’ve grown out of, but some still remain—
The fear of tomorrow, the weight of the pain.
What if I forget all the faces I’ve loved,
What if the stories aren’t enough when I’m gone?
Will the echoes of us carry far in the night,
Or fade like the moon as it slips out of sight?
Oh, time, be kind—don’t steal me away,
I fear what I’m losing with each passing day.
The image I cherished, the soul I once knew,

I’m torn between longing for who I once was,
And knowing that person is dust in the dusk.
But the ones I hold dearest, they anchor me still,
As the future comes rushing against my own will.
So I’ll carry this love, though the years will unfold,
And the me that remains will be stitched with the old.
But time, oh be kind, let me stay in their light—
For the fear of their absence keeps me up through the night.
