Thinking about moving to NW Cedar Rapids, Iowa? Or maybe you've lived on the NW side for years. 📍🏡

NW Cedar Rapids can look pretty different depending on how far west you go.

Closer to the river you'll find established neighborhoods and places like Ellis Park. Head farther west and Johnson Avenue, Edgewood Road, Cherry Hill and newer residential areas become a bigger part of the picture.

Keep going and you eventually reach Morgan Creek Park, which is actually just west of the Cedar Rapids city limits, even though it feels closely connected to the NW side.

Add in local restaurants, neighborhood shopping, recreation and schools, and there's a lot more to NW than simply seeing “NW” at the end of an address.

Thinking about moving to NE Cedar Rapids, Iowa? Or maybe you’ve lived on the Northeast side for years. 📍🏡

NE Cedar Rapids covers a lot more than one type of neighborhood. You’ve got established areas like Bowman Woods and Noelridge, major corridors around Collins Road, First Avenue and Blairs Ferry, shopping at Lindale and Northland Square, parks, schools, major employers, and newer development as you move farther out.

And there are plenty of local food spots mixed throughout the area too. Around Edgewood you’ve got Zeppelins and Daisy’s Garage. Around Blairs Ferry there’s Egg Roll House, Casa Las Glorias, The Pedaler’s Fork and Vineria, plus Kingston’s Steakhouse and Pregame up around Bowman Square. 🍕🍽️

For getting outside, Noelridge Park, Seminole Valley and Ushers Ferry are all part of the broader NE story, while Collins Aerospace remains one of the major landmarks along Collins Road.

Housing changes quite a bit depending on where you are too, from established streets and homes that have been here for decades to newer residential development farther out. School assignments also vary by exact address, with Kennedy and Xavier on the Northeast side and some farther northeast addresses falling within Linn-Mar.

That’s why simply seeing NE Cedar Rapids on an address doesn’t tell you the whole story.
