The Law Offices of John Edward Jones PA, has the honor of being the oldest law firm in Casselberry and has been blessed to serve our community since 1968. Do you really need to buy insurance when you rent a car? 🚗🤔 The answer: it depends.

Before you stand at the rental counter, here are 3 things to check:
• Your Personal Auto Policy: Your car insurance may extend coverage to a rental. Call your insurer to confirm exactly what is covered.
• Credit Card Protections: Certain credit cards offer rental car coverage if you pay for the rental using that card.
• Liability vs. Damage: Keep in mind that liability coverage and physical damage coverage for the rental car are not the same thing.

Figure out your coverage before you reach the counter—it’s much better than finding out after an accident!

In Florida, paying a civil traffic ticket is generally treated as a conviction and points may be assessed on your driver’s license. You may be eligible for traffic school or can request a hearing to contest it.

Taking 5 minutes to do a little research can save you a much bigger headache down the road! 🚘⚖️

1️⃣ Stay calm and respectful.
2️⃣ Hand over required documents (license, registration, insurance).
3️⃣ Fight the ticket in court, NOT with the officer.

Should you say “I’m sorry” after a car accident? 🚗💥
It’s natural to want to be polite, but saying “sorry” at the scene can legally be twisted into an admission of fault—even if the accident wasn’t your fault!
You can still show kindness and check if the other driver is okay without using the word “sorry.” Kindness doesn’t require an apology.
