I am now the only candidate on the ballot for Pemiscot County Prosecuting Attorney. The focus remains on protecting victims, and bringing accountability to criminals.

I want to thank Steve Horton for the professionalism and integrity he has shown throughout this process. I respect his decision to prioritize his family. Removing himself from the ballot had to be a difficult decision. I look forward to working with him. We will bring a safer future to Pemiscot County!

I am honored by the trust placed in me and I am dedicated to serving the people of Pemiscot County with integrity, transparency, and respect.

Drug addiction continues to be one of the biggest challenges facing our communities in this corner of Missouri.

A huge thank you to the law enforcement officers who worked tirelessly investigating these cases to make these arrests happen.

I’m proud to have played my part by reviewing the cases, signing the warrants, and helping hold these drug dealers accountable for the harm they’ve caused in our towns and to our families.

Well done, team. This is real progress.

As always, the individuals herein are presumed innocent until and unless they are proven guilty in a court of law.

Several people are behind bars after a coordinated operation by Southwest Missouri law enforcement agencies.

Today, I officially filed for the August Republican primary election for the office of Pemiscot County Prosecuting Attorney.

From the very beginning of this journey, my motto has been Tough. Tested. Fair. I believe those qualities set me apart as the best candidate to serve our community. I had planned to share more about why I chose this motto and give some background for those who may not know me personally. That will come soon.

But today is not about me.

Today is about two brave young men whose lives were taken too soon. It’s about the families and friends who will never again hear their voices or share another moment with them. It’s about their coworkers who were injured, physically or mentally, and persevered until the threat had ended and the community was safe. It’s about the law enforcement officers who never met them, yet run toward danger every single night, fully aware of the risks. The men and women who pin on that badge, putting the safety of others above their own.

We owe them our gratitude, our respect, and our prayers.

Rest in peace, gentlemen.

Hope to see a big crowd tonight for the Wardell Volunteer Fire Department auction! There are some outstanding donated items, and every dollar goes to a cause that truly matters.

Fundraisers like this are often the backbone of small, rural fire departments. The men and women who serve don’t just answer the call in emergencies—they’re also the ones securing donations, organizing events, and raising the funds needed to keep their departments running.

I’ve seen that commitment firsthand my entire life. My dad spent his career as a firefighter, and I grew up watching what it means to serve a community without ever asking for recognition. Now, as a prosecutor—recently honored as Arson Prosecutor of the Year—I’ve had the privilege of working alongside firefighters after some of the worst moments a family or business can experience. Their professionalism and sacrifice never go unnoticed.

These volunteers wear many hats. They’re firefighters, but they are also our local teachers, pastors, electricians, police officers—and yes, even lawyers. 🙂

A special thank you to Omar Karnes, Chief of the Senath Police Department, for donating a beautiful duck call, and to Charlene Rauh for contributing a stunning mallard mosaic, as well as everyone else who made donations! Your generosity helps keep our communities protected.

102 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections.

Today, the Southern District Court of Appeals upheld the convictions against Kenneth Canday. I’m proud to have done my part to protect our community from a violent offender. Sentences like this ensure that society will never be victimized by him again.

This case was the result of outstanding work by the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office, the Senath Police Department, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Sikeston Department of Public Safety. Their professionalism and dedication were evident at every stage.

This case is bittersweet for me. Henry Franklin testified as part of the SWAT team that made entry into the home and rescued the hostage. The video from that operation was some of the strongest evidence I’ve ever had the opportunity to present to a jury. The team performed exceptionally at the scene, and Henry did an exceptional job on the stand.

Telling Henry about the sentencing was one of the last conversations I had with him before he was killed in the line of duty last year.

A warrior.
An American hero.
