We are a small law firm seeking someone who can develop good rapport with clients, be able to read medical records to determine which next steps are required in the client's medical or psychiatric treatment, and keep clients on task with this treatment.
You may also need to interface with medical providers and their outsourced companies to request, follow up on and track the receipt of medical records from many medical facilities in Northern Nevada and California.
The successful applicant will live in Carson Valley and be able to competently work from home as contract labor (non-employee). This applicant will have their own computer where they can intensively work with pdf documents, and can use our fax software and our email and other online storage utilities.
This is heavy computer work with some phones. So really good computer skills are required.
Skills needed:
+ Ability to work intensively and with a high level of competence with pdf documents and pdf software. Not just opening and reading pdf documents, but creating them, modifying them, inserting pages into them, deleting pages, redacting, etc.
+ Computer with enough RAM (suggested 8 GB, but could possibly work with 4 GB, certainly nothing less) to run multiple memory sucking programs at once. You also need a printer so that you can print, package and mail correspondence. We prefer computers that are PCs and not MAC because our pdf software is not compatible with MAC.
+ Very good internet connection
+ Possess and are very competent at the use of Microsoft Word using .docx extension version
+ Able to speak professionally over the phone and hear on phone calls to understand clients and medical offices and their medical records providers.
+ Have some understanding of medical bills and their different components. (Knowledge of billing codes is not required).
+ Empathic tone to use toward clients.
+ Good spelling.
Night work is okay but must have some time availability during regular business hours to communicate with clients, and with medical provider offices to track down medical records.
Please forward a cover letter and resume and detail any experience you have with the key skills needed. Also indicate what your hourly compensation requirement is. Thank you.
This is independent contractor work. You will be required to sign and adhere to a non-disclosure agreement.
