More than a century later, this idea is still worth remembering.

A country built on equality cannot suddenly decide that some people deserve fewer rights because of where they were born.

Immigrants are not outsiders to the American story. They have always been part of it.

And when we talk about immigration, we’re not just talking about borders or policies.

We’re talking about people, families, and the fundamental idea of who gets to belong. 🇺🇸

USCIS recently announced a major policy update: officers now have full discretion to deny immigration benefit requests if initial evidence is missing, without issuing a Request for Evidence (RFE) or Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID) first.

While this may sound alarming, we saw a similar policy announced during Trump 1.0 that wasn't strictly enforced in practice. We will be closely monitoring how USCIS actually institutes this moving forward.

What you need to know right now:

Avoid filing incomplete applications or using "placeholder" filings.

Ensure every eligibility requirement is fully documented from day one.

Always consult with an experienced immigration attorney before filing.

Our office will continue submitting 100% complete, thorough applications to protect your case every step of the way.

Are you planning to file an immigration application soon? Don't risk a direct denial—reach out to our team today.

Si no eres Residente (LPR) o Ciudadano (USC), nuestra recomendación legal es clara:
NO VIAJES DENTRO DE EE. UU. ✈️🚍

2️⃣ Ejerce tu derecho al silencio: Di “I am exercising my right to remain silent”.

Thinking about traveling within the U.S.? ✈️

Recent reports show that ICE has increased arrests at U.S. airports, raising concerns for many individuals with pending immigration matters.

The key takeaway is this: every immigration case is different. Having a pending application or petition does not automatically mean it is safe to travel.

Before booking your flight, make sure you understand how your immigration status could impact your trip. Getting legal guidance beforehand can help you make informed decisions and avoid unexpected complications.

📞 If you have questions about your immigration case, Hughes Law Group is here to help.

⚠️ PLEASE READ: If you are in the middle of an immigration process, think twice before boarding a flight this summer.

We're seeing a surge in ICE detentions at airports across the country. Having a pending Green Card application, an asylum interview scheduled, or a valid work permit is NOT guaranteeing protection right now.

Unless you already hold a Green Card, please avoid domestic air travel if you can.

Another positive outcome for one of our clients. 🎉

Their immigration court case was dismissed while they had a pending application with USCIS, allowing that process to move forward.

In some situations, it may be possible to request the termination of immigration court proceedings. However, every case is different and depends on the specific facts and legal circumstances.

If you're facing immigration court or have questions about your immigration options, Hughes Law Group is here to help you understand the path that may be available to you.

Your immigration interview is stressful enough without worrying about myths and misinformation.

One of the biggest questions we hear is: Can USCIS search my phone?📱

The reality is more nuanced than a simple yes or no. While USCIS does not have the same authority as CBP officers at the border, there are situations where an officer may ask to see certain information voluntarily, and understanding your rights before your interview can make a big difference.

In our latest blog, we explain:
✔️ Whether USCIS can search your phone
✔️ The difference between USCIS and CBP
✔️ What happens if you refuse
✔️ Whether USCIS reviews your social media
✔️ How to prepare the right evidence before your interview

Knowledge is one of the best ways to walk into your interview with confidence.
