Beginning October 20, 2025, the new 2025 Naturalization Civics Test will be administered to applicants filing Form N-400 for Naturalization.

There are 128 questions on the 2025 civics test and applicants must answer 12 out of 20 questions correctly to pass.

(Applicants who filed before October 20, 2025 will take the previous 2008 Naturalization Civics Test.)

Today, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services posted a Federal Register notice announcing implementation of the 2025 naturalization civics test.

Beginning October 28, 2025, USCIS will not accept paper payments (checks/cashier's checks/money orders).

USCIS will only accept ACH and Credit Card payments using Form G-1650 and Form G-1450.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services has implemented a new way to pay fees using electronic debit from a U.S. bank account.
