Stark County Prosecutor Kyle Stone shared his story, including some of the challenges he faced as a child, and reminded students that their circumstances do not define their future. Every child deserves to be seen, supported, and encouraged to reach their potential.

Our kids need us. By showing up, listening, and investing in young people, we can help build a stronger community and prevent crime.

What a historic weekend! 🎉

Congratulations to Judge Beverly Proctor-Donald on her appointment to the Family Court bench, making history as the first African American woman to serve as a Judge in Stark County.

This is a remarkable achievement and a moment worth celebrating. Congratulations, Judge Proctor-Donald, on this well-deserved honor! 👏🏾

A Canton man has been sentenced to 21 to 26½ years in prison following his conviction on kidnapping and related charges.

Jonathan Bazen, 45, was found guilty by jury of Kidnapping with a Repeat Violent Offender Specification, Abduction, Menacing by Stalking, and Domestic Violence.

The case involved allegations that Bazen threatened his live-in partner and her children with a fi***rm, physically assaulted her, prevented her from leaving, and continued contacting her after she escaped.

We thank Assistant Prosecutor Rebecca Mutigli for her work in prosecuting this case, as well as the law enforcement officers and others who assisted throughout the investigation and prosecution.

The Stark County Prosecutor’s Office remains committed to seeking justice for victims, holding offenders accountable, and protecting our community.

Stark County Prosecutor Kyle Stone and his office continue to educate our community on prevention and awareness.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of speaking with seniors in Louisville about scams, fraud, and ways to protect themselves from becoming victims.

Several attendees shared personal stories about times they had fallen victim to a scam-or came very close. Their experiences reinforced just how important these conversations are.

Education and awareness are powerful tools in prevention. By knowing the warning signs, asking questions, and staying informed, we can help protect ourselves, our families, and our neighbors.
