Yesterday’s Inaugural Widows Luncheon was a heartfelt success. We were honored to host such a warm and uplifting afternoon filled with laughter, shared stories, and meaningful connections. It was a space for healing, support, and community and we’re so grateful to all the women who joined us.

From the thoughtful conversations to the delicious finger sandwiches and cozy atmosphere, every detail came together to create something truly special.

Mark Gruenwald was the executive editor of Captain America, Iron Man, and other Marvel Comics heroes. A longtime lover of comics in general, Gruenwald made it known among his friends and family that his one desire was to have his ashes used in part of a comic. Today we are talking about the 5-year lookback! When we talk about protecting assets in the trust, there is a 5-year period where Medicaid looks back and sees when you put the assets in. If it is less than 5 years, it might not be fully protected. If it is longer than 5 years, Medicaid won’t require you to spend down those assets.

He spent a lot of his time alone and grew to distrust the government, who would inevitably benefit from his estate after his passing. He claimed the government had been “robbing him of money all his life.” Luis produced a plan to divvy up his estate among people who will appreciate it.
