If you missed a court date in Woodstock Municipal Court, this is your chance to get back on track. And, it is a great opportunity for Grisham & Poole, P.C. to assist you. Thank you City of Woodstock, GA
for providing this opportunity! Contact our office today at 678-880-9360 to see if we can help with your City of Woodstock case.

The City of Woodstock Municipal Court has announced a special amnesty opportunity throughout April 2026 for individuals with outstanding court matters resulting from a failure to appear.
The Court’s records indicate that many individuals have accrued failure-to-appear fees and applicable state surcharges, and in some cases may be subject to an active bench warrant or suspension of driving privileges. To help residents bring their cases back into good standing, the Municipal Court is offering a one month window to resolve these issues with reduced penalties.
For cases that do not require a mandatory court appearance:
Individuals may visit the Municipal Court office and pay their original fine in full. Upon payment, the failure to appear charge and associated $200 fee will be dismissed.
For cases that do require a mandatory court appearance:
Individuals may visit the office to address the failure to appear fee. After which, further steps will be arranged to allow the case to proceed.
The Court encourages eligible individuals to take advantage of this one time opportunity to avoid additional penalties and clear outstanding issues easily and efficiently.
“Our goal is to make this process as smooth and straightforward as possible for our community,” said Misty Smith, Court Administrator and Clerk of Court. “We hope residents will use this amnesty period to resolve any outstanding matters and move forward with peace of mind.”
For more information or assistance, residents may contact the Woodstock Municipal Court at 770 592 6025. Staff members are available to help answer questions and guide individuals through the process. Woodstock Municipal Court is located at 12453 Highway 92, Woodstock, GA 30188.

Drivers in Cherokee County - you should always be cautious around school buses. This new layer of protection for CCSD students can give an extra layer of proof in school bus passing cases, or an excellent way for you to fight a ticket if you feel you received one wrongfully. If you receive a traffic citation for passing a school bus, call us.

Our school district is increasing safety for students and bus drivers by installing cameras on school bus stop-arms. Our team of 450 dedicated bus drivers drive 27,500 miles a day to transport students to and from school throughout the county. Our bus drivers exceed state requirements for training and the transportation maintenance team holds the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Blue Seal of Excellence – a combination that illustrates our commitment to student safety aboard buses. Beginning this month, we're taking another step to advance student rider and bus driver safety. All school buses now will be equipped with the cameras to identify drivers who illegally pass buses that are stopped and actively loading or unloading students.

A 30-day warning period begins March 30, 2026; during this period, drivers who illegally pass a stopped school bus will receive a warning notice by mail with no financial penalty. Beginning May 4, 2026, drivers who illegally pass a stopped school bus will be issued a $1,000 citation by mail.

The installation of these cameras was prompted by a rising rate of incidents. Our Transportation department conducts an annual audit during which all our bus drivers on the same day record how many drivers illegally pass their stopped bus while students are loading and unloading. During last school year’s audit, 262 drivers illegally passed our bus drivers in one day.

Whether you are a family law or criminal client, this is important.
On February 17, 2026, the Southern District of New York, in United States v. Bradley Heppner, held that communications by a criminal defendant with a publicly available generative AI platform are not protected by attorney-client privilege or work product privilege.
Applying privilege principles, the court found no attorney-client relationship between the individual and the AI platform, no reasonable expectation of confidentiality, and no protected legal advice.
Client-generated AI materials created without direction from counsel do not qualify as work product.
The decision reinforces the importance of taking care regarding use of publicly available generative AI tools by clients for purposes relating to legal matters. While this decision does not bind Georgia courts, our judges may reach the same conclusion. Exercise caution when talking about your case on any platform.
