So proud of my mom and all she has done in memory of my sister Abbey. St. Baldrick's Foundation-Canton, OH Event is an amazing organization that raises awareness and funds for childhood cancer.

Core Committee Spotlight: Co-Founder Nan Foltz and former VEO

"Our daughter, Abbey, passed away in 2000 of a childhood cancer, Osteosarcoma. She was diagnosed in January 1996 when she was 14 and passed away at the age of 19 August 2000. In January 2003, we heard about St. Baldrick's.

My sister, Sue, and I decided to host an event to help us through our grief process. Held in a neighborhood hair salon with family and friends, it was successful! From that first event, we gained the courage to continue our efforts to raise money for research for Childhood Cancers. We outgrew venue after venue, and now this will be our 11th year at the North Canton Racquet Club.

We are proud of what the Canton Event has become, especially our partnership with local school districts, For Kids, By Kids. Whether it is kids and/or adults shaving their heads or participating in the DWYW campaign, seeing our community's kindness to others is wonderful. I am grateful to ALL who have helped the Canton Event celebrate our 23rd-year!
