Big things coming to Porter Square! 👀 Old North Development is proposing a 6-story, 71-unit residential building at 1740 Mass Ave in Cambridge, right between Harvard Square and Porter Square. Demolition is set to begin this summer! 🚧

The Passive House certified, all-electric building will include active ground floor retail 🌿⚡ and developers have said they're committed to bringing back neighborhood staples Simon's Coffee Shop and Keezer's once construction wraps.

Not without controversy though, the project includes zero on-site parking, raising concerns among neighbors and local businesses. 🚗❌ More housing, greener building, beloved local businesses back on Mass Ave. What do you think?❓

⛳ Union Square just got a little more fun! Local nonprofit has popped up a FREE mini golf hole right on Somerville Ave. And yes, the obstacle is a miniature triple-decker 🏠🏠🏠 Because nothing says Somerville like hitting a golf ball through a tiny version of the house you probably live in. 😆

Putters and balls are in the bucket, free for anyone to use, day or night. It's called City Greens and they're hoping to eventually bring 9 holes to public spaces across Somerville, Cambridge & Boston. 🌿

Go get your par 3 on and chat with your neighbors while you're at it! 💚

🎶🪗🎸🎺🥁 IT'S PORCHFEST WEEKEND, CAMBERVILLE! 🥁🎺🎸🪗🎶

This Saturday, May 9th, Somerville transforms into one giant outdoor music festival and it's completely FREE! 🎉 Rain or shine! 🌧️☀️ Over 500 bands and performers (a record-breaking lineup!) will take over porches, front yards, stoops, and driveways across the city from noon to 6 PM. 🏡🎵

Here's how it works:
🎼 West Zone (West of Willow Ave): 12–2 PM
🎼 Central Zone (Willow to Central St): 2–4 PM
🎼 East Zone (East of Central St): 4–6 PM

Walk, bike, or hop on the T and let the music pull you in!

Whether you're vibing to jazz, soul, brass bands, rock, or a favorite local DJ, there is truly something for everyone. This is Somerville at its absolute BEST. ❤️
