Buying a condo in a 2- or 3-family? Before you negotiate the condo docs, watch this.

When you’re buying a condo, especially in a small association, it’s easy to think you’re simply negotiating with the seller.

But when your requests involve condo documents, rules or regulations, there may be another layer to consider: your future neighbors.

The seller may be perfectly willing to make a request to get the deal done…but they may need the other unit owners to agree to it.

And suddenly, the people you could be sharing a roof, driveway, yard or major financial decisions with are being asked to change the rules as a condition of your purchase. 😬

Could that negotiation get you what you want? Absolutely.

Could it also affect the relationship you’re walking into on day one? Also yes.
