“Can you tell me about the neighborhood?”

This is a question I receive from buyers from time to time, and it's certainly an important one.

As a real estate broker, I want to be helpful while also being careful not to offer opinions about a neighborhood that are outside my area of expertise or could raise Fair Housing concerns.

For example, if a buyer has questions about crime or safety, I may suggest contacting the local law enforcement agency or reviewing other reliable resources. This allows the buyer to gather current information directly from the appropriate source.

Every buyer has different priorities when choosing where to live. My role is to provide helpful resources, answer the real estate questions I can, and give buyers the information they need to make their own decisions with confidence.

Sometimes being helpful means knowing where to find the right answer.
