Unacceptable conduct
A shocking sexual harassment scandal has rocked popular Italian restaurant chain Il Fornaio, which operates two waterfront San Diego County locations, after federal authorities revealed allegations of female employees, including teenagers, being forcibly groped in restaurant bathrooms, subjected to unwanted sexual advances and retaliated against for speaking up. The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says at least 100 women were negatively affected by the company’s workplace environment, with some allegedly driven to quit after their complaints went unaddressed. Now, the restaurant chain has agreed to pay a staggering $3 million to settle the federal lawsuit, exposing disturbing allegations behind a familiar dining brand.
