FORMER JUDGE CANDIDATE MARGOLIN EXPLAINS THE PROCESS ON VOTING FOR JUDGES
AS TO JUDGES AND DA ONLY
These are non political positions (allegedly) to be voted on for the good of our citizens in the County of LA.
When I ran for Judge for LA County some years past I learned a great deal regarding how Judges are selected by the Governor and how the Judicial election process works by the voting public.
At that time in 2010 there were 4 million registered voters. The County Registrar told me that approximately 25% actually vote (loose percentage) in any given election. Of that percentage only 50% to 60% vote for the Judges on the ballot.
When results come in the TV newscasts never even put the names of the winning Judges on the ticker.

Judge Randy Hammond who won in 2010 one of the races was up against 8 other candidates for the seat he ran for. He told me at the LACBA Judge Vetting Meeting (where the LACBA meets with and determines their ranking of Qualified or not) that he was going to win. I said how did you know that whereby he replied because I am already DESIGNATED as a Superior Court Magistrate or Commissioner. The public he said will vote for the Designations in this ORDER [Caveat: FEMALES OVER MEN in all categories:
1. JUDGE (unless the particular judge being challenged is in the news for doing bad or unethical things;
2. COMMISIONER OR MAGISTRATE;
3. DISTRICT ATTORNEY/ASSISTANT/DEPUTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY;
4. CITY ATTORNEY/ASSISTANT/DEPUTY CITY ATTORNEY;
5. CIVIL ATTORNEYS.
For those of you who did the math you can figure out how I faired with my TRIAL ATTORNEY designation.
Having said the above I do not believe the over 400+ judges in LA COUNTY should be stacked with just DA’s with their agendas.
Thus my Selections below do not include DA’s running for Judge in the March 5 Election
MY CHOICE FOR DA IS BASED ON MY PERSONAL KNOWLEDGE OF THE INTEGRITY AND CARE AND PHILOSOPHY OF SOMEONE I HAVE KNOWN SINCE HE WAS 14 YEARS OLD….PLEASE READ ABOUT HIM AND MAKE YOUR DECISION AND I AM SURE YOU WILL ALSO AGREE THAT ERIC SIDDALL WOULD BE A GREAT CHOICE FOR LA COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY.

SEAT 115: KOYANO-Dep. DA-This is a DA Challenge so either was this seat will be filled by a DA

She was not found by the LACBA to be Qualified but the Judge she is challenging Judge Spear has this public record:
