I have known this for quite some time. At the beginning of this Administration, an I-130 petition filed by a U.S. citizen for a spouse took about 16 months. It is now 24 months. There is obviously a secret internal memo instructing USCIS Officers to stop adjudicating cases, even though petitioners are paying fees to have those cases adjudicated.

Recent immigration policies of the Trump administration affect American citizens sponsoring family members and employers seeking workers as the economy has slowed down.

According to documents filed in federal court this week, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security sent undercover agents into church buildings to track activists attending events at Lutheran, Baptist, Episcopal, and Universalist churches.

Only two of the lawyers have immigration experience. This is really low, even for this Administration. Those poor kids.

Legal aid groups have increasingly raised worries that children won’t have the experienced legal help they need, even as the administration is intensifying deportation efforts.

If you file an application while you are still in status, you should be protected, even though the law states that you are “deportable” once your status expires. Congress needs to change this. People are paying the price for the USCIS’s very long processing times.

Federal agents are arresting spouses of Americans, tech workers and others whose visas have expired, including many who have active applications to stay in the country.
