Funcionarios de la Oficina de Asilo de Boston están programando la primera ronda de entrevistas de en Vermont en 18 meses para la próxima semana, del 10 al 14 de agosto.

Esto significa que Vermont Asylum Assistance Project suspenderá temporalmente la coordinación de nuevos casos para preparar la docena de expedientes que han sido citados a entrevista. Reanudaremos la admisión de casos el 1 de septiembre.

Vermont’s first batch of interviews in 18 months are being scheduled by visitors from the Boston Asylum Office for next week, August 10-14.

This means that Vermont Asylum Assistance Project is pausing intake coordination to prepare the dozen or so cases we have called for interviews. We will resume intake September 1.

We regret being unable to provide individualized legal advice to and additional applicants being scheduled for interviews who we do not already represent.

Instead, we are compiling self-help resources at vaapvt.org/library-asylum. We also recorded this English language video featuring general answers to commonly asked asylum system questions (not individualized advice).

If you are multilingual and can record a voiceover of this video, especially in Spanish or French, please email it to [email protected] and we’d be delighted to edit and publish in those languages, too. This one is also available on YouTube (🔗 in bio).

Here’s the deal with “mega” master calendar hearings in court and many judges switching from presumptively remote to presumptively in-person hearings, all with insufficient notice. Please help us spread the word ! And if you have multilingual language skills and are willing to volunteer your voice to help us voiceover this message and make it available in multiple languages, please email [email protected] to help out (Spanish and French are most urgently needed)

Esto es lo que está sucediendo con las audiencias masivas de calendario general (*master calendar hearings*) en los tribunales de inmigración: muchos jueces están pasando de un formato que se presume remoto a uno que se presume presencial, todo ello con muy poca antelación. ¡Por favor, ayúdennos a difundir esta información en Vermont!
