There’s no guaranteed way to avoid a DUI.

A lot of people think certain steps automatically protect them.

Sometimes they help, but the law looks at the entire situation, not just one factor.

That’s where people get caught off guard.

Know how these situations are actually evaluated.

You don’t have to answer police questions.

A lot of people feel like they need to explain themselves in the moment.

But what you say can end up being used against you later.

There’s a difference between being respectful and giving unnecessary information.

Know your rights before you’re in that situation.

From last month. It was one of our favorite local stops.

We had the chance to stop by Wood Ranch Elementary and drop off a few things for the teachers and staff.

Just a small thank you for everything they do in our community. 💛

Be careful contacting someone after a restraining order is filed.

A lot of people think reaching out to “clear things up” will help.

It usually does the opposite.

Anything you say can be used in court—and I’ve seen cases shift just from post-filing messages.

If you’re dealing with a situation like this, be very careful about communication.

You can refuse field sobriety tests.

Most people don’t realize that field sobriety tests are voluntary.

You’re not required to perform them—but that doesn’t mean there are no consequences.

Officers will still make decisions based on everything they observe.

Understanding what’s optional and what isn’t can make a big difference in how these situations play out.

Make sure you know your rights before you’re in that situation.

Don’t talk to insurance too soon after an accident.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is assuming the insurance company is there to help.

They’re not.

Their job is to protect their bottom line—and your words matter more than you think.

I’ve seen cases get weaker just from one early statement.

If you’re dealing with an accident, make sure you protect yourself early.

Sleeping in your car can STILL get you a DUI in California.

A lot of people think they’re being responsible by not driving, but the law looks at “control” of the vehicle, not just movement.

I’ve seen cases where someone never drove… and still got charged.

If you’re trying to be safe, make sure you don’t put yourself in a position where it looks like you could drive.

If you have questions about a DUI case, feel free to reach out.

Many people assume that a DUI case is over if a chemical test result is over the legal limit.

In reality, there can be multiple factors involved depending on the circumstances of the stop and the testing process.

Supporting our local schools, one small gesture at a time.

Grateful for the teachers and families who make this community so special.

After a car accident, certain early decisions can impact how a claim develops.

Common issues include admitting fault too early, delaying medical care, and speaking with insurance without preparation.
