A lawyer serves their client as both advocate and counselor. I'm delighted to share this testimonial reflecting on both.

"The opportunity to be represented by Steven Diaz was the greatest blessing I could have asked for. Steven’s constant communication with me throughout the process helped ensure all my concerns and questions would be answered and settled within a timely manner. I felt a great amount of reassurance because of his knowledge and expertise of my case. Steven was incredibly empathetic which helped ease my anxieties and helped me feel understood. I could not have been more pleased with the result of our settlement. I can say with certainty, Steven Diaz did not take on my case for the money, he did to make sure I had a voice to be seen and heard."

"My experience with Steven Diaz was nothing but stellar. He was kind and compassionate through a tumultuous time, and his knowledge of the law and the options in front of me were communicated and articulated with ease and guidance. He is a master at his craft, and while I hope I never NEED to u

Workers at Amy's Kitchen allege that they are not given the opportunity to take breaks or change tasks to prevent repetitive motion injuries; that they do not have access to clean drinking water during their shifts; and that they are shamed or asked to provide a doctor’s note if they request a break from the line to use the restroom.

The complaint said workers don’t have access to clean drinking water during their shifts and are at risk of developing repetitive motion injuries, among other allegations.

"In an important victory for Silicon Valley activists and California workers, the governor has signed a law making it illegal for companies to bar employees from speaking out about harassment and discrimination. The new law is the result of hard-fought advocacy work by those in the tech industry who have long spoken out against the restrictive confidentiality arrangements, known as nondisclosure agreements or NDAs, which are intended to protect industry secrets but have also created a culture of silence around wrongdoing. NDAs often keep incidents of harassment and discrimination under wraps, forcing employees to keep quiet or face legal actions and fines."

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that CalSavers is not an employer plan and therefore is not regulated by ERISA, the federal Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974.

CalSavers, the employee-funded, state-managed retirement system for millions of Californians whose employers have no retirement plan, is a valid program that does not conflict with federal pension laws, a U.S. appeals court ruled Thursday, rejecting a conservative group’s challenge. The $5 per hour pay bump for grocery workers passed by L.A.’s city council will take effect once the mayor signs it into law.
